Description

Feed hummingbirds – not bees!

One of the benefits of saucer style hummingbird feeders is that it’s more difficult for bees and wasps to drink nectar, especially if you don’t fill it all the way to the fill line. This is because hummingbirds have longer tongues that can reach deeper for nectar, while bees and wasps would otherwise struggle.

To make the most of this feeder, only fill it half full of nectar, giving your hummingbirds  more of an edge.

**NOTE: This will not fully stop bees, but saucer style feeders are known to be more effective than gravity style feeders. Saucer style feeders are where the nectar is under the ports, while gravity style feeders are where the nectar is in a reservoir above the ports.

Built-in ant moat prevents buggy messes

One of the most convenient things about this saucer style feeder is that it has an ant moat already built into the center of the dish. Fill this with fresh water (not nectar), and it will prevent ants and other crawling insects from getting into the nectar ports and littering your nectar with their…. umm…bodies 🤨.

You will want to make sure you top off this ant moat in order to keep it working effectively.

The more the merrier with 6 nectar feeding ports

If you’ve been feeding hummingbirds for a while, you know how they can be pretty aggressive. The nice thing about this feeder is that there are 6 ports available to give your hummers some options.
